Primary 7 Residential Trip - Day 2 Table Football

2nd Jun 2023
A twist for the annual grudge match between the children unfortunate enough to be on Miss Pedlow’s team and those lucky chosen few who get to represent Mr Cook’s unbeaten superstars. A new team on the block in the form of Mrs Irvine’s Lightning Bolts meant a 3 team tournament could be played. The first game was played between the Lightnings and Pedlow Panthers. A closely fought match which ended with a 2-1 win for the Panthers. Next up was Cook’s Crows Vs Lightning. An intense game showcasing skill, determination and a strict adherence to the rules (possibly enforced by an overly competitive P7 teacher) ended in a 1-1 draw. The resulting penalty shootout was a test of nerves with the Criws eventually triumphant. This meant the final game was a defacto final match. At this point the reporter would like to remind readers that it is the taking part that counts…. Oh ok the Panthers won 3-1 and fair to say they deserved their win despite a stellar finish from the crows. Suggestions that the losing P7 teacher has now threatened to double homework next week are unfounded, but there is evidence that Ms Pedlow claimed this to be the greatest achievement of her life! In all seriousness, the children enjoyed this as much as the adults. The full size fussball required the children to hold on to the poles inside the inflatable pitch. Playing the game like the players on table football. We are now relaxing on the beach having an ice cream…. and I am off to console myself quietly in the corner!
