Primary 7 (and Mr Charlwood!) had a fantastic afternoon visiting Windsor Park, home of the reigning Danske Bank Premiership Champions, Linfield!
We had a fascinating tour, taking in the South Stand and Trophy Room where we heard some of the history of the club and their European exploits, before seeing around the Home Dressing Room and the Stadium itself. The children loved getting a behind-the-scenes look at where the players prepare ahead of a match and receive medical treatment.
To make the trip extra special we met Linfield’s right back Daniel Finlayson and the club’s manager, and Northern Ireland’s all-time leading goal scorer, David Healy. The school would like to thank both of them for signing autographs and giving so much of their time to the children. We would also like to thank Stephen Shaw, a Director of Linfield Football Club, for his time and knowledge of the club, which made the trip so interesting and worthwhile.
