When the current Primary 7 children were in our reception class, they built an igloo. As their time to leave Central nears, Trevor had the brilliant idea to recreate the igloo. With thanks to Dale Farm for supplying a large number of the milk bottles and everyone who saved and recycled theirs.
The children enjoyed using the glue guns; problem solving to work out how to keep the shape and learning how to use a screw and piece of string to create a circle (linked with our Maths learning at the time about circles and drawing circles with pairs of compasses) – we also discovered how a large radius makes a very large igloo! They will enjoy being able to ‘play’ in it now it’s finished!
