Inter-generational Boccia Competition
We are delighted to have linked up with Impact Network to offer our children a chance to take part in an inter-generational project. Yesterday was the first event.
15 pupils from our Primary 7 class took part in a Boccia tournament in Randalstown. The children were delighted to try a new sport and enjoyed the competitive competition. All of the children improved as the tournament progressed. They were also very thankful for the lovely refreshments provided by Impact Network.
The tournament was played in great spirit, with a series of ‘one end’ matches seeing teams of 3 aiming to get their boccia balls closest to the Jack. Central had six teams in the competition, with ‘Marshmallows’ reaching the first semi-final. Congratulations to the ‘Chipmunks’, one of our other teams, who won the main competition. There followed an individual shoot-out with representatives of the school making the final. The last competition saw a ‘select’ Central side against a side selected to represent the other teams. Congratulations to our three pupils who won the final 3-1.
Thank you to the organisers, Impact Network and Mrs Hassall for giving us this opportunity.
