It was lovely to welcome the Education Minister, Mr Peter Weir MLA and our local MLA, Mr Trevor Clarke to the school yesterday.
Mr Alistair Smyth, our Chairman of Governors and I were able to talk to these influential politicians about many matters that affect our school. Matters that ranged from maintenance and funding, to pre-school provision.
In these 'Covid' times, we weren't able to give the Minister a full school tour...but he took the time to visit the little ones in their play area...and our most senior pupils to view their fabulous 'Titanic' exhibition.
I found the Minister very well 'briefed'...he even talked to us about our recent Covid outbreak and the school's response.
Thanks to Mr Weir and Clarke for taking the time to visit us...and listening to our petitions for rural schools in general and this school in particular !
