Primary 4 have taken part in lots of activities this week to mark Children’s Mental Health week. The theme this year is ‘Knowing Me, Growing Me’. In groups, there was a range of discussion points, e.g. our talents, like, dislikes and challenges. As a class, we discussed how some of us share similar interests and challenges while others are different, and this is what makes us unique. We also discussed the importance of understanding and expressing our emotions.
We focused on the movie ‘Inside Out’ and in particular the ‘Islands of Personalities’ and how these islands are created from our past memories, emotions, life experiences and passions. We talked about what islands would best describe us and what islands we would like to work on and grow to be part of our ‘Islands of Personalities’. The children then designed their own ‘Islands of Personalities’.
