P7 Trip To Titanic Belfast.
On Thursday, P7 visited the Titanic Belfast exhibition. The day began with a workshop on communication - as the children learnt and practised the use of semaphore, Morse code and signal flags.
After lunch there was chance for a quick look around the SS Nomadic, which is the ship used to take passengers from Cherbourg port to the Titanic. The children were fascinated to walk in the footsteps of people that were part of such a tragic piece of history.
The children were then able to explore the galleries within the exhibition, where they could see more about the building, sailing and aftermath of the Titanic, as well as the history of Belfast and the shipyard. The children particularly enjoyed seeing the cabins and the view of where Titanic was launched.
A great day out, and we would like to again thank Mrs Sweeney for her help in organising the trip.
