World War 2 Anderson Shelters In Primary 7

1st Feb 2019

Through their topic of WW2 P.7’s made model Anderson Shelters. They brought in a tin can from home and glued it into a card board box. They then used paper mache to mould the shape of the top of the shelter. They painted the inside and outside of the walls grey and drew brick like shapes on this. They then used tissue paper to create the effect of a garden. They used wooden sticks to fence the garden off and glued 2 more onto the sides for a clothes peg. They then made salt dough and created vegetables from these, painting them appropriately for their gardens. They cut clothes from felt and attached to their clothes line. They brought in moss and glued this to the top of the shelter to act as camouflage. Finally, they made beds from the shelter from paper straws, created a door out of card and drew propaganda posters from around the model gardens.
